Robert Smith

Robert W. Smith, Ph.D., received his Master and Ph.D. in Public Administration from Nelson A. Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy at the State University of New York in Albany, NY. Dr. Smith is Chair of the Master of Public Administration Program, Thurmond Institute of Government and Public Affairs, Clemson University. Bob has authored numerous text books and feature articles related to Public Administration and Public Budgeting in America, published by Prentice Hall. Serves as a member of the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA) involved in technical presentations, chair of technical sessions, and chair of their Annual Conference.

Since 2006, Bob has served on the City of Clemson Planning Commission, along with many years of experience as a Political/Government Commentator and Contributor for various news media. His experience and background in Homeland Security, Public Budgeting, and Performance Measurement for Ethics Programs; will assist the student with current basic and fundamental concepts to utilize in their day-to-day operations of water and wastewater treatment divisions of governmental operations.
